My Monster Ghost!
I just found this post on Boing Boing. Sure, I loved old ads from comic books, crazy thing is, I actually ordered this Monster Ghost in the 4th grade! I don't remember the comic the ad was in but I remember thinking that was one heck of a good price for a monster over 7 feet tall! This quote from a bummed out purchaser sums it up perfectly
A neighbor and I sent away for the "Monster Ghost"."Make him obey your commands even when you are secretly hiding as far as 100 feet away"
"A real terror, giant sized---" which, when it arrived, turned out to be...
A white balloon
A white garbage bag
Two glow in the dark circles
A string.

Ha I read that one. Also read one about a guy who bought a monkey out of a comic. I never ordered anything from a comic, but one time I ordered a 'throwing star'. When I got it it was dull and about the size of a silver dollar. I accidentally threw it and stuck it into the side of Chip's head.
