First day of school!
Let's see if we can guess what their day will be like.

"Holy CRAP! New school. New teachers. I heard they are really mean! I'm freaked out. My stomach feels funny. I bet I get lost. I bet they serve that gross carrot salad with raisins today. Man, I hate that stuff."
"Dude! I just got this bitchin' train whistle installed in my truck. This thing is so loud! It's gonna be great! That school is going to be crawling with the ladies! Yee haw!"
What a strange first day of school it always was. I never got used to it. All those people. Not your friends but the ones you hoped you wouldn't have to see anymore. Getting up early again! After a summer of sleeping late and having no real schedule, getting up early is the worst. My first day was always filled with that stomach ache that wouldn't go away. All day long. Even at lunch. Even once I got off the bus at home, it stayed.

Especially the schools we went to dude. It could be brutal. Not the smoothed over, P.C. world of today. And man don't get a haircut or new shoes or something... you'd get your ass ragged on all day. Rosa Scott and M.R. High were more like prisons or insane asylums than schools. I hove ZERO nostalgia for school between the 4th or 5th grade till the day I walked out.
I knew this post would touch your heart. I feel the same way. It was a miserable time.
You know it brudda. The bad old days. And you know what? It's really pathetic that such a large chunk of your life can't be fondly reflected on and enjoyed. I am envious of those who had a more typical and cool school/high school experience. All I know from that time is bucket loads of angst.
Just sorry ass teachers who couldn't care less. Lots of the kids were dysfunctional, mouth breathers that couldn't keep their mouths shut or mind their own business.
Really and truly if you could get in a time machine go back and shoot some footage people would be appalled at what their kids were made to suffer.
Just sucked a$$.
